BPC II, which stands for “Best Practice Council II”, meets twice a year—once in the springtime, and again in the fall. During these three-day conferences, representatives from Atlas Van Lines affiliated companies gather together to discuss first-quarter financials, best business practices, and suggestions to improve moving and storage services and standards for improved customer satisfaction. This year’s first meeting was held over a three-day period, from April 28th to May 1st.
BPC II: Encouraging Growth and Higher Standards in the Moving Industry
This spring, the BPC II meeting was held in Albany, New York—and hosted by fellow Atlas agent Mabey’s Moving & Storage. Our representatives were able to tour their facility, interview their administrative, operational, and sales staff, and to discuss various problems and solutions relevant to Atlas Van Lines agents and the moving industry in general.
During the three-day summit, representatives from moving companies all over the country and Canada come together to discuss their goals for the future, while reviewing past objectives and giving updates on what has happened since the last conference. As per tradition, this year’s summit included a presentation from the host company (Maybe’s Moving & Storage), which included details about the business’s growth, structure, and an introduction of key staff members.
The agenda also included a presentation from the President of Atlas World Group regarding the current leading trends and changes within the industry. As well, each member of the group presents and votes on a “Best Practice” that they feel is most beneficial to their company. This opportunity to network with one another & create long term relationships with other Atlas agents all over the country is invaluable.
About Atlas Van Lines
Atlas Van Lines began as a company in 1948, when a group of 33 entrepreneurs in the moving industry joined forces. The idea was to build a world-class alliance of moving industry professionals that would strengthen the services and standards offered by its affiliates.
Together, they created Atlas Van Lines and established a company identity and mission statement that promoted the continued pursuit of excellence in the industry, commitment to world-class moving and storage practices, and customer-first policies. Today, Atlas Van Lines is the second-largest van line in America, comprised of over 430 independent agents in the United States and Canada, and over 140 authorized partners in 140 countries.
