Spring is in full bloom.

People are flocking to Florida for spring break and a glimpse of heat and sun. For the residents in Florida, they have been enjoying warm weather for weeks. Despite the mild winter, spring does have an effect on the peninsula.

Easter Egg Hunt & Games – Siesta Key

Children will be bouncing with this excitement at this Easter event. On April 4, children ages 1-6 can participate in an Easter egg hunt, face painting, and rides.  They also will receive a stuffed animal and a goody bag. Get there soon though! Only the first 125 kids can register for the egg hunt.

Spring Training – Ed Smith Stadium

This time of year is huge for baseball fans around the country.  They get to watch their teams practice and play for the first time that year.  Many travel down to Florida so they can enjoy cheap seats. Spring training is starting to wind down, but there are a couple more games to watch. April 1, Baltimore Orioles take on the Pittsburgh Pirates before facing off with the Atlanta Braves on April 3.

Give Back – Manatee County

One of the great ways to kick off spring is by giving back to the community.  Walk a Mile in Their Shoes is a nonprofit program that aims to raise money for the thousands of children who are homeless in Manatee County.  Join the community on April 4 and help those less fortunate.
